Schott NYC: A Legacy of Rebellion and Style

Founded by brothers Irving and Jack Schott in New York City, Schott NYC revolutionized outerwear by introducing the first leather motorcycle jacket with a zipper—the iconic Perfecto—in 1928.

Schott NYC’s designs have transcended generations, becoming symbols of rebellion and individuality. The Perfecto jacket gained legendary status when worn by Marlon Brando in The Wild One (1953), and later became a staple for punk rock icons like The Ramones . These associations cemented Schott’s place in both American and British subcultures, resonating with youth who value authenticity and self-expression.

After a brief hiatus due to Brexit-related challenges, Schott NYC is making a triumphant return to the UK market for the Autumn/Winter 2024 season. Collaborating with PR agency Rich London and sales agency Kippered Uk Ltd, the brand aims to reconnect with UK fashion retailers and consumers.

The new collection pays homage to the brand’s heritage, featuring classic ‘CWU’ bombers with velcro patches, branded leathers, and 70’s 80’s & 90s-inspired suede and leather pieces in earthy tones. The premium ‘Made in the USA’ line includes standout items like the Perfecto biker jacket, LC Varsity & B-3 shearling flight jacket, and the popular Nebraska colorful puffers, which have been well-received in Europe.
